"I love Christmas because I get to spend time with my family. It is my birthday".....aww :)

It's so touching how much spending time with family means to her. She is always talking about it. Makes me so proud.

First grade--week 16

This was the week after Christmas. It was so different bringing Hannah to school this week. While we were all ready for school to start again, it was kind of sad, too.

Got right back into things with working with numbers:

Wrote out the month of January:

They played a couple games to work with numbers:

This week they were learning to be assertive:
"Be assertive, be a good friend and work as a team"

Mrs. Eggen is Hannah's music teacher. She wrote this :):

I asked Hannah what this said and she wasn't completely sure but she thinks: "It is Hannah. I write these because it is my favorite move. If you know who the people are, they are Mary, Joseph and Jesus". Doesn't make a lot of sense but it probably did at the time to Hannah :)

They had a countdown to Christmas and brought it home:

Must have been cleaning house a bit because we also got this one this week :):

"My favorite thing about fall is: I like dressing up. I like spending time with my family"

Here are a couple pictures from Facebook:

During break, they had a contest for reading. You had to do certain things while reading to get a "marshmallow". Things like "read with a pet", "read with your pajamas on", "read with your parents", etc. Whoever turned in their paper got to have a hot chocolate party. Hannah is hard to see but way in the back on the right. Her face is partially hidden:

One of Hannah's classmates and friends lost 3 teeth in one day. Hannah was in the background :):

First grade--week 15

This was the week before Christmas and the last days before break. I felt sorry for the teachers!

It was also Hannah's birthday week and a field trip to see "The Grinch". A fun week!

Still some learning with numbers:

Working on spelling words:

She did great on her spelling test!

The first grade took a field trip to see "The Grinch" play. No parents were allowed to chaperone which was a bummer but I'm glad they posted pictures on Facebook:

On Hannah's birthday she was able to bring cupcakes to school which she was so excited for :)

I have to share the Christmas gift Hannah's class did for their parents. It is so cute! It is a handprint calendar. Each month has her handprints. It is so precious:
