First grade--week 5

This week was special. The class had met their reading goal so they had a special picnic with the principal! It was a spaghetti lunch picnic. :) They made the school's Facebook page. Very proud of them!

This was also a week that Mark had surgery. :( It was very hard on Hannah and she struggled during the day. We came up with the idea of having school with Mommy on Thursday so she could spend some time with us. It was just what we all needed. I'm so grateful that we have a supportive teacher and school:

Despite a lot of stress, Hannah did very well this week and I couldn't be more proud of her. She got 10/10 on her spelling test on Friday:

They worked some math and worked with numbers. Hannah really does not like math she says :(

The kids each wrote a letter to someone. Hannah wrote a letter to another fellow first grade teacher as she was going to be hanging out with her after school while I was with Mark at the hospital. I just loved what she had to say:
It says: "I like you. You are special to me. Thanks for being a spot. Love Hannah". Awww, not exactly sure what she meant by a "spot" but thought that was so cute :)

Here are a couple more pics from this week

The night before Mark was going to have surgery we had gone out to eat:

We also had a birthday party for Hannah's cat who turned 2 on October 1:

And a picture of Hannah reading to Daddy in the hospital....awwww.....he was so tired though :(
