Kindergarten---week 12

This was Thanksgiving week so it was a short week---only Monday and Tuesday. But still lots going on. :)

Of course since it is Thanksgiving, lots of focus was on Thanksgiving.

Hannah made a turkey:

She said the turkey had a nail in his right foot. :)

On the back she said she wrote "Hannah's turkey".

They worked on sight words and I thought the turkey was such a creative way to do it!

Hannah drew a cookie on the back page :)

Here she was to match the words with the pictures. At first I was so impressed that she could do that. But then she confessed, she only put in the "t" and that her "boyfriend" Noah put in the rest of the words because she didn't know them....oh geez.
She said she had to draw a drink at the back page. Love her imagination!

Hope you all had a GREAT Thanksgiving!!

Kindergarten---week 11

This week was learning colors! I LOVE how they not only learn the colors in English but also Spanish! Hannah's been watching tons of Dora of course so she was so proud that she knew some. :)

The letter "T":
Hannah drew a picture of her family on the back. :) Love how she put glasses on her mom and dad. :)

Some learning with numbers:

She also was able to take her art project home that they had put on the wall. She got a 3 for a grade which is great. :)

This week Hannah had a bad cold and her nose has been red and sore. :( She came home telling me her teacher told her she should put champagne on it.

Me: "Ummm, are you sure she said champagne, Hannah?"

Hannah: "Yes! Champagne or lotion will help it feel better she said!"

Me (thinks for a minute): "Oh I bet you mean Chap Stick!"

Hannah: "Well yeah! Champagne!"

Then this week while in a store, Hannah picked up something that had fallen off the shelf and put it back where it was supposed to go "Mommy, I'm a Saint who cares!" 💖 So grateful for our teachers who teach so much more than we realize. Thank you!!

Kindergarten---week 10

This week Hannah was student of the week!

As part of being student of the week, she got a free kids pizza at a neighborhood pizza restaurant. She was so excited. :)

Also she made a poster of herself listing her likes, her family and anything else she wanted to tell about herself. Here is her poster that we created (We realized we needed to take a picture after she got completely dressed for school and we didn't feel like taking anything off and on again---so we took a picture of her with all her gear on :)):

Her cousin and grandma made a cake for her and we celebrated this week, too!

When we have cake in our family, we keep a part of the cake unfrosted so Mark can have some.

Okay, so onto things she learned this week :)

Sight words included "in" and "the":

And the letter "B":

She's starting to write sentences:
I see a feather

Practicing more Bs and playing tic-tac-toe at school---such a rebel! She's really into drawing hearts and stars lately

I see a butterfly

As part of being student of the week, all the kids made a book for Hannah. The kids drew pictures of things that Hannah likes. :) Very cute! Hannah told them she likes butterflies, the beach, pink, her cat. So the kids drew pictures of those things for her.

Here are the pictures of the book. I included all the pages as they are just so darn cute:
