First of all, thanks so much to everyone for your comments! It makes me feel not so alone and makes me realize that it's normal.
Yesterday was a bad day. Mark had an insulin reaction that resulted in seizure activity. It's happened many times before, but it's so hard. He doesn't remember it which I'm thankful for, but I always see that scared look in his eyes....like he doesn't know what's going on and it breaks my heart. It seems no matter how much I talk to him, he still seems so scared. And trying to give him a sugar shot when he's seizuring is so hard. But, he's fine, just like he always is and it's just something we have to deal with.
Wendy, if you're reading this, I admire you so much. It's so hard having to watch Mark go through it that I can't imagine how you do it with Korinne. You're very strong!
When I first came to the NW board a year and a half ago, one of the first people I met was Michelle. She and Nick helped us in so many ways that I can't even begin to describe how much. We quickly became friends. I cried with her when she miscarried and we've been there for each other for every BFN. I'm thrilled beyond words to say that their baby girl, Kayla Nicole, was born yesterday! She is so beautiful with a head full of hair! :) Congrats Michelle and Nick! I'm sooooo happy for you guys! We love you!!

Damage control
This weekend we had a yard sale. We did very well considering. Friday it rained off and on so my sister and I spent most of the day covering and uncovering. It was a pain. But considering the weather, we did very well. We sold all the big stuff we wanted to sell so that's always a good thing. :)
We sold our cars at the sale, too. The next morning, I'm in the garage just cleaning up some stuff, when I see this:
I was really bumming when I saw that one of the cars had fallen. You see, with collectible cars, you have to be really careful as they can be very fragile. But, I remembered that particular car that had fallen was kind of falling apart anyway and was almost to the point of Tyler inheriting it so I wasn't too worried. I didn't even pick it up. I just shrugged it off thinking I'll pick it up later.
So, I continue to work.
And work.
And work.
And work.
Finally, after what seemed like a long time....and I'm sure God was laughing hysterically at me, and I'm sooooo glad no one else was in the garage watching me as they would've been laughing hysterically at me for not noticing it.....I saw this:
This is what it should've looked like:
Yes, that would be our entire one side of our display of cars that had fallen. Not good. About the worst thing that could happen. And why I didn't notice it before is beyond me.
Can we say total blonde?
We still have to do some damage control and see what we're faced with. So far, things actually look pretty good considering so we're hoping everything is okay.
Oh, regarding TTC, a couple people have asked when my test date is. Right now, I don't know. I'm too chicken, so I'm going to have to be real late to even think about testing. I'm thinking if I wait 9 months and have a baby, then I'll know it would've been positive, so I'm thinking of doing that. :)

I'm still here!!
Sorry I've been MIA. We have a yard sale at our house this weekend and it's been crazy. I'll be posting more later. I just didn't want search warrants going out. :)
On a very sad note, please keep my friend, chocodaisy, in your thoughts and prayers. She suffered a miscarriage and will be having a D&C today. She's been so supportive to me and my heart is breaking so much for her. Please just take a little time to pray for her. She's been through so much. Thank you!

My day of pee...part 2
Not to worry, this isn't gross or disgusting or anything like that. This is actually really cute and once again, if this cycle works, it'll be nice to have it documented. If not, well, I'm knocked up so we won't even go there. :)
Anyway, after my near-spillage-of-pee event in my truck, we went home. We had Peyton with us with the goal of their parents hoping she'll take a nap at our house before going to a parade later that night in our town.
I think we have "sucker" written all over our faces.
Anyway, Mark, Peyton and I get home. Of course Peyton is wide awake at our house. So, I'm pouring pee from the baggie into a cup getting ready to test with a digital. She's watching me and wanting to know what's in there and what I'm doing. Trying to explain it to a 2-year-old is next to impossible. Finally, I dip the digital into my pee, put the cap on and hand it to Peyton. I hold her we had to see if there was a happy face with a smile. Peyton nods and says "Okay, a happy face...a happy face...a happy face". I swear to God that chanting helped because lo and behold our happy face came. When she saw my happy face, she had the biggest grin on her face. So, Peyton and I were dancing in the bathroom doing our "happy face dance". It was so cute.
Then, Tyler had spent the night after the parade (I'm telling ya..."sucker"). I had to go in for an IUI at 8 the next morning so I was explaining to him that I would have to leave for a bit and Mark would take care of him. Of course Tyler's at the age where he asks A LOT of questions.
Tyler: Where do you have to go?
Tammy: Down to the doctor.
Tyler: Why?
Tammy: Because I just have to.
Tyler: But why?
Tammy: Well, if you must know, we're hoping to have a baby.
Tyler: They have babies there?
Tammy: No, we're hoping to have one.
Tyler: How?
**Picture Mark in the background DYING of laughter**
Tammy: Well, let's just say the doctor is going to help.
Tyler: How is he going to help?
Tammy: He's a she.
Tyler: How is she going to help?
Tammy: Why don't you ask your mom and dad?
Tyler: But I want to know now.
I finally bribed him to shut up with candy, popcorn and a movie. Whew.

My day of pee
I have quite the interesting story about my pee which, if this cycle works, will make a very interesting entry in the baby book, so I wanted to share.
**WARNING** Flat out, this may be gross. Just keep in mind, this is my 12th IUI and desperate times call for desperate measures.
It was recommended to me to save my pee in case I was close to a surge so that I can backtrack and retest. My initial thought was okay, that's disgusting. Cups of pee all over the house? But, I am very desperate at this point, so I thought what have I got to lose? As it turned out, it saved me this cycle as I got my smiley because I saved my pee.
So, yes, I was saving my pee and had cups of pee on my dresser. Saturday morning, I was going to be gone and wasn't sure how I was going to save it. I thought of it too late that I couldn't go to a drug store to find something that would work..that would've been way too easy. So, my friend gave me a few suggestions. One was to pee into a baggie, put it in another baggie and then when I come home, put it into a cup. So, once again, desperate times call for desperate measures. Only, I wasn't comfortable putting it in 2 baggies, I used 4 and used a big freezer gallon bag to seal the deal...there was noooo way I was going to spill pee in my purse.
Okay, so I go into the gas station and into the restroom. If you've ever tried peeing into a baggie without getting it on you, it's pretty dang hard...but I did it. I had baggies everywhere and my cheapie test strip out. Thank God they don't have cameras in those bathrooms....or I hope not. So I've got my baggies sprewed out everywhere and I'm praying no one comes and knocks on the door.
So, I have my pee in my purse and my cheapie test strip in there waiting to show me the results. Mark was really wanting some nuts so I'm in the store looking for nuts. Then, I start thinking about the situation. Okay, so I'm here, looking for nuts with a bag of pee in my purse. What if we get robbed? They're going to think I'm a freak. Needless to say, I got out of there real quick.
Nuts and pee....nice combo.
Anyway (sorry, this is getting long), I go to the truck and take out the cheapie and lo and behold, it's a dark positive. I'm thinking the surge is way too early, so I'm thinking I better test with a First Response which I had luckily brought with just in case. So, I'm holding my bag of pee and testing and patiently waiting for the test results. Suddenly the door flies open. Luckily I didn't spill any pee but it was close. Apparently my mom was worried because it was taking me so long and she was worried something was wrong with Mark or something. So, she sees me holding my pee with a stick in the other hand. Thankfully, my mom was completely understanding and didn't think I was too weird...or I hope not.
Can you imagine the story I could tell our peanut?
My friend who had this pee idea had a great way of trying to explain this to a judge if I was ever stopped and was found with pee in my purse:
"Your honor, this lady in Arizona off the internet... no I've never met her... well she told me to do that... no your honor I would not jump off a bridge if a stranger told me to... yes your honor it was for medical reasons and my purse was a portable lab for the day... no your honor it had nothing to do with supplying urine for drug tests to drug addicts.... no your honor I am not smart mouthing you...."
These are the days of our lives.

Our Jellybean tree
As some may know, back in May 2007, Mark and I suffered an early loss. It was very early so I don't talk about it much as I don't feel I deserve to grieve a m/c being it was so early. But, I was talking to a friend who suggested I haven't fully grieved that loss. She recommended planting a tree in honor of our baby we lost. She said that in years to come, that tree will grow and its branches may hold a tree swing that our peanut will swing on and then the kids will be connected. I thought it was an awesome idea so that's what we did this weekend. Thanks chocodaisy...you're the best. (((HUGS)))
The original plan was to do it this Sunday afternoon right before the IUIs. Our thought was if this month worked, the tree would've been planted when our peanut was conceived....therefore having the kids connected even more. I originally thought it would be just Mark and I, but my family ended up coming and helping which meant so much to me. God had His way in this. It truly was special to me to have my family there.
We nicknamed our little baby we lost "jellybean". It did cause confusion to poor Tyler as when we were planting it, he wanted to know when the jellybeans would be coming. Hmmmm.....
Tyler and Peyton by the tree

Me
Tyler digging
My brother-in-law helping to dig
My dad (grandpa) helping to dig
Tyler watering the tree
Our jellybean tree
Yesterday, if our jellybean would have been born on his/her due date (01/20/08), he/she would have been 6 months old.
We love you jellybean and we think of you all the time. We miss you. Thanks for watching over us.

There's so much love
This conversation took place after I was being a dork....yes, believe it or not, I am sometimes a dork.
Mark: What possesses you to be so retarded?
Tammy: The same thing that possesses you to be dumb.
Mark: Well that wasn't nice. You just called me dumb.
Tammy: You called me retarded.
Mark: That's different. You are.
I guess he's got a point.....

TTC update
Thanks so much to everyone for your comments on my hair! That was so sweet of you guys to notice! (((HUGS)))
Just wanted to give a quick TTC update. I'm on CD8. It looks like the inseminations will be early next week....possibly this weekend, but I'm leaning towards early next week. I did see my midwife in the clinic yesterday and she's all set to go! She felt really bad about not calling me back. She's been really busy as she delivered 6 babies this week and has been running around with her kids' sporting events. But she said to just call when I need her and she'll be there. I have her house and cell number so she can't get away from me. :) Poor thing.
Thanks so much for all your support and prayers! It means so much!

To my long lost sister, Michelle
The first time I got to know you was when you responded to a post regarding Mark's difficulties handling infertility. I'll never forget yours or Nick's responses. I still have it.
Then, despite your struggles after dealing with your miscarriage, during my first IUI attempt, you posted on the train of hope that you thought for sure it was a BFP and that I was so lucky. Again, I'll never forget those words and your support when you were dealing with such grief alone when Nick was deployed in Iraq.
Since then, we've gotten closer and closer. We've talked so much about the TTC stuff and non-TTC stuff. I've shared more with you than my own family. I trust you so much and I know whatever I tell you, you won't judge me and you'll speak from your heart.
There are so many times you've e-mailed me or messaged me just a short note to tell me you're thinking of me. I can't tell you how much that means to me. So many days it'll happen when I'm feeling low and that's exactly what I needed. It's like you just "know".
And as you know, Nick has been a big help for Mark. I don't know what we would've done if Nick wouldn't have been there to help Mark sometimes. Both of you guys have really touched our lives.
I look back at this long, heartbreaking journey and I'm so glad it didn't work out the first time as I never would have gotten so close to you. As hard as it has been, you make it much easier and I'm so glad we've become great friends. I definitely consider you my sister. I think of you every day and wonder how things are going for you. I pray for you guys every day. And when you told me you were having a baby, you would've thought it was us the way Mark and I were jumping up and down and I was crying. :) You and Nick deserve your baby so much and we're thrilled for you guys!
I know some day we'll meet. I can't imagine going through life without meeting you and Nick. I know Mark and Nick would get along great...just give them a car or 2 to cruise around in and we'll never see them again. :)
I love you, Michelle! I'm so glad to have you in my life and I'm so happy you guys are getting your angel.

Pictures from this weekend
Adelaide
Tammy and Adelaide
Tyler and Adelaide. Tyler was so good about taking care of Adelaide on the playground. It was so cute. :)
The picture is a little hard to see because it's dark, but this is my family. My sister and her husband are on the left with Tyler and Peyton (in the stroller). Then there is my mom and dad. Then, my brother and his wife with Adelaide.
Same picture only minus my mom and add me. :)
Mark and me....need I say more?
And just to let you all know, my whole family is weird. We were at a family reunion this weekend. I saw a lot of cousins that I normally don't see. My sister lets out this huge burp and looks at me (I'm sitting next to her) and says "Tammy!". I'm sittign there trying to explain that it wasn't me while everyone is laughing at me. I hope they knew it wasn't me, but I guess I'll never know. :) How completely embarrassing.

Dedication to "A"
I honestly don't even know where to start, but there's so much I want to say.
You have been there since day 1. You were one of the first people to know we wanted a baby. From the very beginning, you have always been very supportive and extremely patient with me. Even when you suggested ways or procedures and I looked at you like you had corn growing out of your ears, you never gave up and let me make my own decisions in my own time.
You've been there for me so much. You're the first person I want to talk to when I get good or bad news. I find myself wondering if you're proud of me or how you would handle a situation. I know that probably sounds obsessive, but I like to think of it as "thinking the situation through". :)
You've prayed for me and I know you think and pray for me often...I can feel it. Thank you. I know you genuinely want me to be happy. My happiness is your happiness and my sadness is your sadness.
As you know, I've met so many wonderful people on this journey--people I now call my friends and sisters. I never would have met them if it hadn't been for you and your encouragement to find people who are dealing with some of the same issues as me. Thank you so much for helping me find these wonderful friends.
You've talked to me about angels and I definitely agree that I've met some along this journey. I definitely consider you an angel and I don't think it's a coincidence that your name also begins with an "A" and ends with an "L".
Could I have made it through this without you? Yeah. But I wouldn't be where I am today without you. We probably would've jumped right into IVF and I don't know what the outcome would be, especially learning what we've learned now and how hard it would have been on Mark. But with your encouragement and support, we've gone on a different journey and as you know, I wouldn't give that up for the world.
I don't know if I'll ever be a mother. I hope so, but I know that's in God's hands and I trust Him. Even if it never happens, I'm glad we went through this because of the people I've met, especially you.
I sincerely appreciate you more than you'll ever know and I love you. Thanks for being a part of my life and for letting me be a part of yours.

If I wasn't blonde, I'd have to dye my hair
I was looking out the window this morning...just a normal day. I happened to look out the window at my car and saw this:
Yes, that would be my wallet and my keys on top of the car. They were there all night last night.
Can we say duh??? We're lucky we still have a car.

Anyone wanna join the party??
Aunt Flo came early yesterday morning along with my cousins Cramping and Bloating. Later Terrible Backache showed up and Fatigue came not too much later. So we're having a party here! Cramping did leave early last night. Thank goodness as she was sooooo annoying. Don't tell her I said that, though. It might hurt her feelings.
So, anyway, today is CD2. I left a message for my midwife to talk about the plans for next month, but I haven't heard from her yet. I'm hoping she's for the plan. As most of you know, I'm hoping to do a natural cycle this month. I'm hoping it works. :) It looks like we'll maybe be inseminating the weekend of the 18th or around that time.
I'm excited for this cycle, but scared. I was actually crying the other night because I didn't think I could handle another negative. I just sometimes feel like being every other cycle didn't work, what makes this one different? I wish I had a better attitude. I know I've made a lot of changes and I have to try to stay positive.
If anyone wants to join in the party, come on over! I've got plenty of party food. :)

Memo from the Peanut
To: Mommy and Daddy
From: The Peanut
I'm still here Mommy and Daddy! I know it sometimes feels like I'm so far away, but I'm never farther than a beat of your heart.
Daddy, I know you pray for me and think of me every day. I can feel it. Thank you, Daddy. Your love for me and your urge to hold me in your arms is so strong and I'm so proud you're my daddy.
Mommy, I know you hard you've worked to help bring me to your tummy. You've done so much work and it just shows me how much you love me and want the best for me.
I know some days are harder than others. I've seen you cry so many times. And, Mommy, I've seen you get so mad at those sticks you pee on and throw them on the floor. It's okay, Mommy. God understands. It's hard to be patient. But, you know what? I'm okay right now. I'm sitting on God's lap and He tells me stories about you guys. Daddy, you sure were a wild child and Mommy, you weren't so innocent either. But God tells me that you guys are going to be the best parents and that I'm so loved already, not just loved by you guys but loved by so many people. I'm so lucky.
Hang in there, Mommy and Daddy. Be strong. Lean on each other through the tough times. God will let me come when the time is right. Until then, He's taking good care of me and protecting me.
I love you and I know how much you love me. Hold onto the hope and faith. I can't wait to give you guys smiles and kisses and hold your strong fingers with all my little hand can.

Bring the Rain
This is one of my favorite songs that has really touched me. If you can't listen to it, the lyrics are below. It's beautiful.
Bring The Rain Lyrics
I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that
I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to
praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of the clouds that may
loom above because You are much greater than
my pain
You who made a way for me suffering
Your destiny so tell me what’s a little rain
[1st Chorus]
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty
is the Lord God Almighty
I'm forever singing
[2nd Chorus 2x]
Everybody singing
Holy, holy, holy
You are holy
You are holy
[2nd Chorus 2x]

It never ends.....
talking about farts. Yeah, we're sick. Yeah, we need therapy. No, we don't wonder why it's taking so long to concieve. :) We know God's thinking "are you kidding me?"
Here's the thing: Most of you know I work from home. I had the unfortunate pleasure of working on Saturday while the rest of the world got off. :( Mark had gotten up from bed and had come into my office to talk to me....and lets out a BIG one.
Tammy: What are you doing? Why did you do that?
Mark: I had to let one.
Tammy: You couldn't have done it out in the hall? Why here? I have to be confined to this area for 6 more hours.
Mark: I'm sorry.
Tammy: How would you like it if I went to the bedroom and let one while you were trying to sleep?
Mark: That's different.
Tammy: How?
Mark: Yours stink.
Tammy: No. Mine don't stink, yours do. Mine are always fine.
Mark: Whatever. Mine don't stink. Yours would clear Wisconsin. I'll see ya later. I gotta go to the bathroom.
Tammy: Ya think???
Can ya feel the love???? :)
I got him back though. :)
Tammy: (while looking for something on TV in the afternoon). Beach volleyball is on.
Mark: Sweet! I love beach volleyball!
Tammy: (turns it to the beach volleyball). Me too!
Mark: Hey this is men's. That was too mean. You got my hopes up.
He, he. :) There's nothing like an afternoon of men's beach volleyball, though. :)

Obsessions
Happy Fourth of July everyone!
I was thinking about obsessions this morning. I don't know why...just was. I have a couple crazy ones that my family just doesn't understand.
1. I will not touch a blanket in a hotel room. I will get mad at Mark if he sits on the bed without sitting on the sheets and not the blanket. I've seen too many specials where there are 'goods' on the blankets and it disgusts me. Plus, I worked in a hotel where they washed the blankets "when they thought it was necessary". It disgusts me...do you know how many people have sex on top of the beds? Ewwwww!
2. When putting food or anything into a baggie, I have to make sure there is no air in the bag before I seal it. Otherwise it drives me crazy and I think it'll get stale. Even just a little air is bad to me. I don't know why....it just is. Also, if I know potato chips or something like that has been exposed to air, I won't eat it.
Anybody else got weird obsessions? I'd love to hear about them!
Gotta tell you guys this.....last night, I was at the pharmacy picking up some of Mark's meds. I was a little uncomfortable, so I thought I'd let out just a silent fart....turns out it wasn't so silent. Luckily, it was really dead in there and the pharmacist had a TV blaring so I don't think he heard me....but to be honest, he didn't talk to me after that fart, so I'm not sure. So, I get out to the car and I tell Mark the story and he's laughing. He wants to know just how loud it was. I could feel another one coming so I told him I could show him just how loud it was. That one ended up being a silent one. I get upset and wonder how I can let out a big one when I wanted a silent one and when I want a big one, I get a silent one. Mark was laughing, though, so at least I gave him a good laugh. :)
Pretty disgusting, huh? And we're trying to bring a baby into this environment????

TTC update
I want to say thanks for all your support! I've heard that people dealing with infertility are the most caring, supportive, patient people in the world....and I couldn't agree more, even if our patience is tested a little much. :) Thanks so much for all the support!
I'm currently on CD22 and should be getting AF in the next week. But, check out this perfect pregnancy chart:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/186e65
Too bad there is no possible way I'm pregnant. :) It must be all the changes I've made.
(I don't understand why it doesn't show a link and just the web address no matter what I do...anyone know what I'm doing wrong???)
Anyway, the plan is to do a natural cycle next month...no meds, no trigger, no ultrasounds. I still have to talk to my MW about it, but I think she'll be okay with it. With all the work I've done, I want to see how my body does. I've also bought a saliva microscope which is another test to help pinpoint things. I'm definitely not going to miss my surge this month. :) We'll be trying next month! I can't believe it's been 3 months since trying....in some ways it's gone so fast and in other ways, way too slow.
I've also decided that when I'm done with TTC, I will be donating my monitor and saliva microscope in hopes of it helping someone else. I talked to Mark about it and he was in full agreement, saying that once I get pregnant we can donate them. I told him I wanted to wait until I had a baby in my arms as anything can happen and that even with our baby, I still wasn't sure how "done" I would be, so it might be awhile before donating the items.
I think Mark's eyes were just about going to fall out of his head...his face turned white. I think panic set in. Oh, no! She's talking about more than ONE!
